Connie Stevenson

Connie grew up just outside of Erie, PA. She attended Alfred State College where she met her future husband, Bruce. Together they raised 2 children in Victor NY and as they say, the rest is history! After being diagnosed with cancer in 1995, Connie took up painting as a coping mechanism to distract herself from the harrowing mental and physical detriments of her cancer treatments. It was then that she discovered she had a true talent and passion for painting. What started out as a simple therapy turned into something much bigger! She started her own business and grew a local clientele, creating custom paintings for those who commissioned her for her work. Connie has thankfully been cancer free and remains in remission, however her love for painting has only grown!

Bruce Stevenson

Woodworker

Bruce's interest in trees and wood is far more involved than just turning bowls on a lathe. His degree in Horticulture and Recreational Land Management has provided him with the opportunity to have a rewarding career and deep connection to nature and the beauty of trees and woodworking. Originally from Spencerport, NY, Bruce returned home to attend Alfred State College after serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as an assistant golf course groundskeeper at Durand Eastman Park, and also as an interior landscape gardener for Kodak. After leaving Kodak, Bruce became the Facilities Manager at Gorbel in Fishers, NY. Bruce and Connie raised their two children in Victor, NY. Their historical home and landscape is their passion and occupies most of their time. Bruce has collected and planted a vast variety of trees and plant material in their landscape. When harvesting trees, he looks for interesting characteristics and unique graining in the wood for potential projects. He enjoys transforming these unique features into works of usable pieces of art.
